{Refrain:}

Les Feuilles Mortes with Francois Le Roux

Oh! I would want you so much to remember

Happy days when we were friends.

At that time, life was more beautiful

And the sun more brilliant than today.

Dead leaves collected with a shovel,

You see, I have not forgotten …

Dead leaves collected with the shovel,

The memories and regrets also

And the north wind takes them

Into the cold night of oblivion.

You see, I have not forgotten

The song you used to sing me.

(chorus)

It’s a song which resembles us.

You, you loving me and I loving you

And we lived, both of us together,

You who loved me, I who loved you.

But life separates those who love

All gently, without making a sound,

And the sea erases on the sand

Footprints of separated lovers.

The dead leaves collected with the shovel,

The memories and the regrets also

But my quiet and faithful love

Always smiles, thankful for life

I loved you so much, you were so pretty,.

How do you wish that I forget you ?

At that time, life was more beautiful

And the sun more brilliant than today.

You were my sweetest friend

But I have nought but regrets

And the song that you sang

Always, always I will hear it !
